Videx is local-first. It does not operate a download backend, user database, analytics service, or cloud storage.

Downloaded files and output settings

How the app connects

The installed interface is served by Videx on 127.0.0.1 and uses same-origin local requests. The public website is used for documentation and downloads only.

One optional network check

Videx can check GitHub Releases no more than once every 24 hours for a newer version. Disable this with VIDEX_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1.

Voluntary support

If you submit a GitHub issue, review diagnostic output first. Never publish cookies, tokens, private URLs, or downloaded media.
